Morality Is Based On God's Commands
Bishop Mortimer defends what is known as the divine command theory of ethics, according to which the rightness or wrongness of an action depends on God; commands. According to Mortimer; then, God; commands set forth a universally valid set of basic moral principles that are revealed to human beings in the Bible.

Ethics for Schools
This is a page from the Christian Medical Fellowship's excellent website. Use it to explore a range of medical ethical issues.

The Golden Rule
The Golden Rule crops up in a huge number of Religious traditions. This page gives a few. It is from a website run by a business offering Spiritual Values education advice for parents.

Faithnet
This site includes useful introductions to many of the topics that you will be studying.

Center for Applied Christian Ethics
This Institute is based at Wheaton College, a Christian University in Illinois. The Centre's website gives a distinctively Christian view of many of the Ethical issues of current concern.

Peter Singer Links
Peter Singer is the contraversial Ethicist who has argued for Animal Rights, Abortion and Euthanasia.

Issues in Christian Ethics
This site is hosted by (but not approved by!) the McAulay campus of the Australian Cathocil University. It is run by Yuri Koszarycz, a lecturer in Ethics and Church History. His Home page has further links to lecture notes on issues such as Bioethics.

Professor Albert Spalding
Professor Spalding is at Wayne State University in Detroit. He lists a vast number of Ethics resources including journals and Institutes devoted to Ethical research.

Journal of Religious Ethics
This publication is based at Georgetown University.

Faith and Reason
Follow this link to the Vatican's presentation of Pope John Paul II's Encyclical on Faith and Reason. This was published in 1998, and deals with the relationship between Faith and Reason, and the way that Christians can make Ethical decisions in the modern world.

Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority
This is the organisation that regulates medical and research practices regarding Infertility and Embryology. Click on the link to see the regulations regarding the use and disposal of embryos.

Ethics Papers
This is a service offered to American students - for a fixed price per page, a paper on an Ethical debate will be e-mailed to the student. Since there is a charge for the paper, this will not be so useful for Sixth Formers, but teachers may find something useful!
