To help you with your Coursework assignment, we arranged a visit to
the Shrine of our Lady of Walsingham. The Shrine dates back to AD1061, when Richeldis de Faverche (the Lady of the Manor) had a vision of Our Lady. She built a replica of the house that she saw in her dream. This became a place of Pilgrimage, and people came to Walsingham from all over Europe. Henry VIII demolished the Monastery that looked after Richeldis's house, but another was built in 1931. This is now in the Shrine Church that we visit when we go to Walsingham.

For the full history of the Shrine, click here, but remember you don't need to mention anything about the history of Walsingham in your coursework!
While we were at Walsingham recently, I took some some photos of the visit. Download a full colour report of the visit by clicking here.
