You will need to research the Ethical reponses to War and Conflict, and the various Religious responses to conflict and violence. In particular, you will need to understand the Christian response based on the Teachings of Jesus. The links below will give you plenty of "ammunition" for the debate. (Sorry!)
War
There is only one website worth visiting if you are researching War - Lawrence Hinman runs an incredibly detailed site. Here you'll find lectures, case studies and background texts.

Bonhoeffer And The German Churches' Response To Nazism

This isn't on the British "Big Issue" site (the famous magazine that supports the homeless). It is another site that includes essays on a wide range of "Big Issues"

Dietrich Bonhoeffer
This page is hosted by "Probe Ministries", and is a useful introduction to Bonhoeffer and his beliefs.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Ethics
The "First Things" website includes this article (by Jean Bethke Elshtain of the University of Chicago) about Bonhoeffer and his book "Ethics".

The Christian Commando
BBC Yorkshire has this page which features a 2nd Leutenant in the Marines, who insists that his Christian Faith is compatible with the life of a soldier. Many Christians believe that Jesus' message was pacifist, but Tom Simpson argues that "I take the 6th Commandment 'Do Not Kill' as do not commit unlawful killing - murder essentially." Use this page as a "case study" of Christians and Pacifism.
